Red Garden Food Paradise Oh Chien
Oyster Omelette, Street Food
- Under RM20 per pax
Supper at Red Garden Food Paradise Penang brought a rather blackened RM15 oyster omelette plus a connection to Michelle Yeoh’s Sandiwara

Thai
The dinner at Simply Thai delivered a mixture of stellar high points and a few average baselines. The absolute best item of the night was the Pandan Chicken, which arrived flawlessly seasoned, juicy, and deeply aromatic.

The Kangkung also turned out good, maintaining a nice crisp bite, while the Kerabu Chicken Feet delivered a delightfully sharp, appetizing flavor profile.

However, some of the classic staples fell a bit flat; both the crab omelette and the pineapple rice were decidedly meh, lacking the vibrant punch you look for in these dishes.

For our soup, the pork rib Tomyam proved to be an interesting variation, though I still personally prefer a classic seafood tomyam for that traditional oceanic depth.

Luckily, we added a pork knuckle as an afterthought, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice–crispy, rich, and well-executed. It completely salvaged the middle-of-the-road dishes and rounded out the feast beautifully.

Total: RM300.00
Average per pax: RM60.00 (5 pax)
MVX Score: 7.3/10
M – Meal Value
At roughly RM60 per head for a massive five-pax spread that includes heavy proteins like a whole pork knuckle and specialized chicken dishes, the total utility is satisfactory.
Score: 7.5/10
V – Venue & Vibes
The seating is spacious enough for large families, though the place feels a bit run down.
Score: 7.0/10
X – X-Factor
The X-factor is the pork knuckle and the pandan chicken.
