Sometimes the food is good, but the deal is what really makes the meal memorable. That was the case with this buy 1 free 1 order from Dozo at Sunway Square Mall. The food turned out good, but what made the whole thing land especially well was the price. The order came with a Tori Katsu Curry Bento and a Matsu Sushi Bento, and for a total of RM35.88 including tax and delivery after the Grab discount, it felt like a very worthwhile dinner. At that kind of price, expectations are naturally kept in check, but the food held up better than just “acceptable deal food”.
The Tori Katsu Curry Bento was the stronger value play. The chicken katsu still looked nicely golden when it arrived, with a crisp coating that had held up reasonably well in transit. That is always important for delivery because once the crunch disappears, a katsu meal can turn sad very quickly. Here, it still had enough texture to remain enjoyable. The curry on the side also looked thick and comforting, with the usual dependable Japanese style richness that makes a rice set like this easy to finish.

The Matsu Sushi Bento added variety to the order and made the whole meal feel fuller. There was enough assortment in the box to keep things interesting, from maki pieces to inari and the little extras that make a bento feel more complete. It was not the sort of sushi box that tries to impress with luxury ingredients, but as part of a value-focused buy 1 free 1 set, it did its job well.

What really made this order stand out was how hard it is to complain when the deal comes together this nicely. The food was good, but the price was better. That balance is exactly what makes a promotion worth talking about.
Tori Katsu Curry Bento – RM17.91
Matsu Sushi Bento – RM20.57
Subtotal: RM38.48
Incl. Tax: RM2.91
Delivery fee: RM4.40
Grab discount: -RM7.00
Total (incl. tax): RM35.88
Average per pax: RM17.94, based on 2 pax
MVX Score: 8.1/10
M – Meal Value
This is where the order really shines. At RM35.88 all in for two bentos on a buy 1 free 1 deal, the value was excellent. The food did not feel like it had been compromised just because it came through a promotion.
Score: 8.8/10
V – Vroomness of Delivery
The katsu still held up with a decent crisp coating, and the bentos arrived looking tidy and intact. For a delivery order with fried items and sushi in the same meal, that counts for a lot.
Score: 7.8/10
X – X-Factor
The X-factor was the deal itself. The food was good, but the real winner was how much meal the promotion delivered for the price paid.
Score: 8.3/10
