Hong Tou Meen, Street Food, Non-Halal
What can you buy for breakfast at eight ringgit and forty cent nowadays? What I had at Farlim Wet Market Foodcourt were a bowl of hung tou meen, kopi-O kao and tapaoed home yee meen for daughter. As a foodie, I never afraid or selfish about exposing my food discovery. But I occasionally been warned by those local, saying that I exposed their secret place of cheap food to the public and my post is encouraging the hawkers to increase their price!
But all I can say is that these kind of hawkers selling their food at unexpected price with intention to help those in need. And we, if we don't support these kinds of hawkers, they will one day close shop and balik kampung tanam jagung!
By the way my hung tou meen is RM3.50, yee meen is RM3.70 with egg and kopi-O kao is RM1.20.
Below are reference for more cheap street food!
Mee Jawa - RM2.50
Char Koay kak with double egg - RM3
Penang Hokkien Char with 2 big prawns - RM6
