Tomato Noodles, Non-Halal
Curiosity led me to try the tomato noodles at Happy Fellow, having seen others order it with enthusiasm. I opted for the version that included fried kolo mee, which was added into the tomato-based broth. Unfortunately, the flavour profile was too far outside my usual range of acceptance, and I found it difficult to appreciate. However, I can imagine Sarawakians, who are more familiar with this dish, might have a different opinion.
The sides, including the wantan and fried chicken, were a bit underwhelming as well, lacking the punch of flavour I was hoping for. Despite my personal experience, I can see how those more accustomed to these dishes might enjoy the unique taste.
