Chicken Chop, Nasi Lemak, Non-Halal
Lalaport is turning into foodie haunt where the “Ngo Kwai” can find a variety of food options. Ngo Kwai translates literally to Hungry Ghost but it means Gluttons or Foodies. We ended up at Hookie Dookie Lalaport not for the food but because they serve Guinness. That makes a “Chau Kwai”. An alcoholic in Cantonese.
We already had a heavy breakfast earlier so we decided on a relatively light lunch. My children shared a Nasi Lemak set (RM19.90++) while my wife and I shared a Cajun Chicken Chop set (RM18.90++). We all shared a Beef Pepperoni Pizza (RM27.90++)

The Chicken used in the Nasi Lemak and the Chicken Chop was essentially the same. The difference was the Chicken in the Chicken Chop was slightly charred. The Nasi Lemak had a percik sauce which was pretty good. The rice had some fragrance and it was competently prepared dish. The sets came with a soup and a drink. At just slightly more than RM20 nett, it’s not a bad deal.
The Beef Pepperoni Pizza was also competent. Guinness (RM33++) comes in a full pint and they do a pretty decent pour. All I can say of Hookie Dookie Lalaport is that they serve decent food at decent prices.
