Chiefeater VK explored Restoran Sg Way Hakka Yong Tau Foo, discovering springy, generously filled pieces with structurally perfect fish paste

Chinese, Non-Halal
Chef Hugo is a staple in KL when I’m back – thanks to Chiefeater VK’s intro a few years back. This time around, we went back to the staples. The chicken rice. We also had the lonster noodles with truffle.
The starters were good as usual – the squid.

The pork neck especially. 7/10

The scrambled eggs with bitter gourd was supreme at 7/10
The steamed soon hock was also supreme at 7.25/10

Actually, the best dish (for me) was the pork tummy pepper soup- excellent! This is even better than the version I had at Paradise Teochew. Chef Hugo’s rendition was a 7.5/10 for me. Very silky and balanced. Totally flavourful.

The celtuce, also known as stem lettuce, asparagus lettuce, or wo sun (莴笋) in Chinese – was also superb at 7.5/10
Chef Hugo never disappoints, always a consistent 7/10 for the past few years.
