Hwa Lyuk Korean Grill Restaurant Puchong Army Stew
Korean, Non-Halal
Description
Post by Chiefeater VK
A visit to Hwa Lyuk led to a bubbling hot Army Stew or Budae Jjigae, a dish that delivered bold, comforting flavours with a rich, spicy broth packed with hearty ingredients.
The broth was intensely savoury, carrying a deep gochujang-based umami kick, enhanced by layers of ingredients like kimchi, tofu, enoki mushrooms, sausages, and Spam. The instant noodles soaked up the broth beautifully, giving every bite a satisfying spice and depth. A slice of melted cheese added a touch of creamy richness, balancing the fiery notes. However, the MSG level was a bit high, leaving a lingering after-effect, though it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment.
The samgyupsal (pork belly) was well-prepared, offering tender, juicy bites that paired beautifully with the robust broth.
Total meal for the 3 of us came up to RM145.
