Dinner was ordered via food delivery from Ipoh Tuck Kee Puchong Jaya. I opted for their Yuet Kong Hor. It arrived well-packed and still hot, which is always a plus. The egg was intact within the dish, though naturally, it had cooked further in transit, losing some of that luscious runniness that usually defines a great Yuet Kong Hor. I was actually ok with that because it was already expected.
The texture of the hor fun was smooth and silky, a sign of quality noodles, but the seasoning was disappointingly lacking. It felt as though the crucial savoury elements had been overlooked, leaving the dish somewhat bland despite its promising appearance. Now that was not expected as they are supposed to be famous for this dish.
While the execution in terms of texture was there, the missing seasoning dulled what should have been a more flavourful experience. I am uncertain if dining in at Ipoh Tuck Kee Puchong Jaya would make a difference.
