Karaage Japanese Curry Rice,
Yet another newcomer has emerged in Pavilion Bukit Jalil, making waves with its Japanese fusion cuisine. JP & Co, inaugurated in August 2023, promises a culinary journey that marries traditional Japanese flavours with Malaysian twists.
Jen's choice, the Seaweed Fried Rice (RM19.90), proved to be a symphony of flavours. The dish, not merely a side but a melody in itself, showcased an artful infusion of umami-laden seaweed, creating a delightful dance of textures and tastes. The hint of wok hei added a captivating dimension, making each bite a nuanced experience.
I had the Japanese Karaage Curry Chicken Rice (RM28.90). The crispy karaage chicken, impeccably seasoned, provided a delightful crunch, perfectly harmonizing with the flavourful curry. While the curry leaned towards a more watery consistency, its taste remained a gustatory delight, leaving a lingering satisfaction.
The Royal Black (RM19.90) which is akin to a non-alcoholic dunkel, added an intriguing note to the meal. The beverage, with its unique blend of kombucha and espresso, offered a refreshing contrast to the rich and savoury dishes.
JP & Co warrants further visits to try out the other items here. Their service warrants a special mention as the wait staff were very attentive and courteous. If extra points were awarded for this, they would get stars.
