Toast
Experiencing breakfast at Kaiia Kanteen (Kanteen) in Sunway Square provided a modern cafeteria-style meal with a focus on local and Western crowd-pleasers. This establishment, located on the first floor, is recognized for its cheerful environment and extensive menu that transitions from classic Malaysian dishes to Western staples.

The Curry Egg Toast (RM15.00) was a highlight of the visit. The curry was well-seasoned and effectively absorbed into the toast, pairing excellently with the egg. Although the price point of RM15 is considered “atas” (upscale) for a toast and eggs, the quality of the dish kind of made it palatable.
However, the coffee was less impressive, and I would likely skip it on a future visit.

Curry Egg Toast: RM15.00
Coffee: RM12
Score: 7.33/10
M – Meal Value
The Curry Egg Toast, while priced at a premium RM15, delivered a well-balanced and satisfying flavor profile. For diners looking for a refined version of a local breakfast staple, it offers fair value, though the overall cost per head can rise quickly with drinks.
Score: 7.0/10
V – Venue & Vibes
Kaiia Kanteen offers a bright and lively cafeteria vibe, making it a cheerful spot for a morning meal. Located within Sunway Square, it provides a convenient and comfortable setting for both students and professionals in the area.
Score: 8.0/10
X – X-Factor
The technical execution of the curry-soaked toast is good. It’s not exactly unique but it’s good.
