My friend said she wanted to go check out this Kwan Kee Store kuih shop from Hong Kong with a Michelin rating. So we went to look for it after lunch. This Kwan Kee has a perpetual queue. Luckily when we got there, the queue wasn’t very long. It got longer after we bought our kuih.

I bought the steamed black sesame layer cake, molasses chestnut layer cake, and peanut sticky rice roll. The roll was the best one – it was so soft and literally just melts in the mouth. My 2nd favourite was the black sesame. I like the flavour of sesame and it came through. The molasses chestnut layer cake was very mild in flavour – couldn’t really taste the molasses. It has a very mild taste of coconut milk. Couldn’t really taste the chestnut too, although there was a layer of chopped chestnuts.
