Pork Cheek, Spanish, Non-Halal
I was taking the train back from KL and I had to switch trains at Hang Tuan Station. Which meant that I could stop at Lalaport for a late lunch. I decided to look around for food options here. Coming down the escalator from the station, I saw Marta’s Kitchen Lalaport first. That was an easy decision to make. Marta’s had established their first outlet in Desa Sri Hartamas and carved out a name for themselves.
I did not want something too heavy, therefore no paella. I saw this pork cheek option priced at RM32++. The waiter suggested I should add on another item but I thought the pork would be enough. It was a hot day and I added a bottle of beer to my order.

When the pork cheek arrived, I understood why the waiter had suggested that I add another item. It was really small. Smaller than the size of my fist. However what it lacked in size, it did make it up in terms of taste. The meat’s texture was tender and was not chewy. Each bite was flavourful. And the mashed potatoes was the carbohydrate supplement. I do feel that the sauce that was doused on top of it decreased its visual appeal.

I wasn’t too hungry so the dish did the job for me. If you are feeling famished, this will likely not be enough by itself. Order more items.
