Pork Noodles, Non-Halal
A comforting bowl of Pork Noodles made for a satisfying start at Memories Taste Puchong. The Lembing Mee noodles had a pleasing chew and came coated in a glossy, savoury soy-based sauce, topped with chunks of mock meat and spring onions. I liked the firmness of the noodles. Served alongside was a hearty, cloudy pork broth with soft, floating strands of egg and bits of minced pork, this dish was a pleasant surprise.

The wild boar curry remained as punchy and flavourful as ever, thick with spices and cooked until the meat was fork-tender. Unfortunately, the nasi lemak it was paired with fell short; the rice lacked the richness and fragrance expected from properly cooked coconut rice.

As part of the weekday promotion at Memories Taste, there was a Buy 1 Free 1 offer on selected items. I chose the Penang-style chee cheong fun and I could choose from a variety of other dishes I could have for free.

I did amuse myself unfurling the chee cheong fun.

For the free option, I ordered a plate of pie tee. While neither dish stood out, the value made up for it. Given the offer, it’s hard to argue with what’s essentially a bonus snack.
