Wantan Mee, Non-Halal
As a Malayan Cantonese, my favourite comfort meal of all time is Wantan Mee. Ming Kee Restaurant at Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong is where I go for my old style Wantan Mee. A place where the Master is a disciple of Koon Kee in Petaling Street.
He is now in his senior years and fortunately his children have learnt the trade and are responsible for Ming Kee. Old Master is there daily as many old regular Customers want to chat with him including me.
Growing up I always order dry wan tan mee until I learnt to enjoy it even better in soup base at Ming Kee. Ordering “Sai Yeung” with Sui Kow became the norm when I do my marketing each Saturday at Taman Bukit Maluri.
