Burgetory has been a name that’s been known for 10 years, first starting their venture at Subang Jaya serving up gourmet burgers. They have recently opened up a new outlet called Mision By Burgetory around my neck of the woods. What they serve is an extension of their menu at Burgertory. Some of their burgers are still here. But they also have pasta and grilled meats. And the grilled meat is where they excel.
We ordered 4 items and some drinks. A Chorizo pasta (RM23+), Swine Bacon & Cheese (RM34+), an Iberico Shoulder Loin Steak (RM29+) and an Iberico Rib Finger (RM36+). Everything was well seasoned, with the flavours coming through well. My gripe with the pasta would be it’s not al-dente enough but Jen found that it was fine for her. The Swine Bacon & Cheese, David found enjoyable - I thought it was a bit too sweet with the bacon drenched in honey. The Iberico Rib Fingers was an extra that we had because it looked interesting. 50/50 fat and meat, it certainly has a lot of flavour contributed by the fat.
My dish was the Iberico Shoulder Loin Steak which I thoroughly enjoyed. Seasoned well and each piece (there were two) grilled with the same consistency. The meat was firm yet succulent. I paired it with a Duchesse de Bourgogne (RM28+), a sour beer which was a good pairing of tangy beer with a savoury meat. Definitely a place that I would revisit, especially since it’s in my neighbourhood.
They have a limited selection of wine, none that are house pouring but all very nicely priced (below RM150+). For me, the beers make up for it. The + in the pricing is the 10% service tax. They do not have SST, yet.
