Tawau's famous vermicelli at Papa Kopitiam has been handed down for three generations.
It all started 49 years ago when an elderly gentleman from Hong Kong began selling it at a small food stall in Tawau. The Vermicelli here is different from elsewhere. The noodles are stir-fried until fragrant, then topped with pan-fried eggs and drizzled with sauce made from pork slices. The noodles absorb the sauce, giving them a special and flavourful taste. Don't miss their special dish of century egg dumplings, which is only available in traditional breakfast shops. For a unique flavour, try their fish soup with fresh milk, tomatoes, and pickled vegetables. Foodies visiting Tawau mustn't miss out on this experience!
