Oh my goodness, it feels like we've been eating feasts every day since last Wednesday, it's getting seriously challenging to keep track of how many kilograms I've gained. Tonight, we're indulging in another feast with close friends to celebrate the Mooncake Festival. I have to maintain my reputation as a mooncake enthusiast, after all! A foodie friend recommended this restaurant called Restoran Buddies in Shamelin, which happens to be very close to my place. So, we decided to give it a try and see if it's as good as they say.
The verdict? Well, all the dishes here are really, really good. The standout for me was the char siew, which practically melted in my mouth, and I could have eaten it non-stop. Next was the Thai-style fern shoots; they were so good that I think it might be a sin. The other dishes were excellent too. Don't just take my word for it; you have to try it for yourself. If you find it as good as I did, we're soulmates in food appreciation.
What's famous here and in high demand are the roast goose and roast duck, but unfortunately, the roast duck was sold out, so we settled for roast goose. The roast goose was scrumptious, and I'm sure it would have doubled the food ecstasy. You can check out the photos of the other dishes we ordered. The claypot fish was also very tasty and just right for my palate.
As for the price, it was quite reasonable, RM392 for 9 people and 7 dishes. Overall, everyone had a fantastic dining experience tonight. Alright, we're all ready to continue enjoying ourselves, and we wish everyone a very HAPPY MOONCAKE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL!
After this, we'll head home to devour some more homemade mooncakes. Let's make this a feast to remember!
By the way, if you plan to visit, be sure to call the number below for a reservation. You'll most likely struggle to find a table if you walk in, and some dishes like the roast duck, roast goose, and the melon dish need to be pre-ordered.
