Char Kuey Teow, Street Food, Non-Halal
The morning char kuey teow stall at Restoran Soon Sing has long been popular for those craving for CKT in Puchong. There’s nothing quite like savouring a fresh-off-the-wok plate of CKT. It’s a meal best eaten on the spot, as the taste and texture don’t hold up well to travel, even for a short distance.
I ordered my Char Kuey Teow with extra chili and uncooked cockles. The heat level was spot on, giving it that extra punch I love, while the cockles were fresh and added a briny richness to each bite.
One standout here is the prawns: large, succulent, and bursting with flavour. They’re nicely presented, too, making the dish as visually appealing as it is delicious.
At RM8.50, it’s a fair price for a satisfying plate of CKT. Just a tip—the stall only operates in the morning until around 1:30 pm, so plan accordingly if you want to catch a taste of one of this!
Editor's Note
There are two different operators of the CKT stall. I had the one in the morning which is fried by the proprietor of the stall. The one in the evening is fried by a different person.
