Siam Road Charcoal Char Koay Teow Is Not Too Bad Lah
Char Kuey Teow, Street Food, Non-Halal
Description
Post by Chiefeater Veronica Yap-Yong
The famous Michelin Bib Gourmand rated Siam Road CKT is always packed and the waiting is as long as it takes. Sometimes an hour. We arrived at 5.45 and the queue was short, so we got in line. Food arrived at 6.20pm. Not bad at all.
Standard? It does live up to its reputation. The keutiaw was smooth and thin. Taste was there, fragrance ok but maybe I expected more. My husband says it was not too bad la. Big prawn. Price RM9 per plate. The one with chili is pretty spicy. I rate this the same as the left handed CKT. This has better kuetiaw but i feel the left handed CKT is more fragrant. Just saying. I’m not a food connoisseur.
