Chinese, Fried Rice, Crabs
Dinner was at The Crab House Seafood Restaurant, which had spotted the night before.

We had a hearty three-dish spread of Crab with Creamy Butter & Salted Egg Yolk, Four Combination Vegetable in Belacan, The Crab House Signature Fried Rice (RM20) washed down with a pot of chinese tea.

We thought we’d over-ordered but somehow, everything disappeared. The star of the night was surprisingly the signature fried rice: aromatic, savoury, and perfectly wok-fried. Each grain carried that elusive smoky edge that only a well-seasoned wok can deliver.

Next up was the vegetable stir-fry in belacan — crunchy long beans and aubergines cooked just right, with a gentle spiciness and depth from the sambal.

The creamy butter and salted egg crab looked indulgent but ranked third in flavour; while the sauce was lush and aromatic, the seasoning didn’t quite cling to the meat as well as hoped. Still, it made for a satisfying end to the meal — especially when mopped up with leftover fried rice.

• Crab with Creamy Butter & Salted Egg Yolk: RM98
• Vegetable with Belacan: RM25
• Signature Fried Rice: RM20
• Chinese Tea (2 pax): RM6
• Total (after SST & service charge): RM172.85
Score: 8.4/10
M – Meal Value (8.5): Fresh seafood, solid wok work, fair pricing for crab night.
V – Vibe & Venue (8.3): Clean setup with live tanks and cheerful service; great for casual dinners.
X – X-Factor (8.5): The fried rice — full of flavour and wok hei — unexpectedly stole the show.
Don’t let the seeming quietness of their dining hall fool you into thinking that this place has few patrons. Most of the patrons enter the restaurant and head straight for the private rooms.
