Tang Jai Yoo Restaurant Teochew Dinner
Teochew
Chiefeater Patrick Sato Lee had a simple Teochew style dinner at Tang Jai Yoo Restaurant in Bangkok's Chinatown

Spanish, Non-Halal
Chef Chavez of Tinto strikes again. On yet another week – we opted (again) for the specials. Chef Chavez’s omakase if you will. Personally I think format works wonders.
Today was a celebration of black truffles, so we opted for the Iberico pork & Hokkaido scallops.
The scallops are a highlight bcos of the sour creme topping. Such balanced favours given the delicacy of the scallops. The truffle notes came through in sonnets.

The Iberico pork was scintillatingly seared but technically not as demanding as the scallops entree. Plus, I’ve had Chef Chavez’s meat offerings, and they’re consistently above average. Hence the scallops was the novelty this time around.

The other staples we had: the seafood soup , gambas are old faithfuls. SGD405 for 3 pax including a bottle of Cava Imperial Brut. Happy Sunday.
