Sandwich, Pork-Free
I have noticed that come lunch time, Tucker & Co in TRX, gets filled up with diners. Looking at the price of their lunch set, starting at RM35, it helped me understand what could have contributed to the number of diners. I decided to give it a try and ordered their Angus beef burger (RM53).

The set lunch started off with a salad and some bread. It came with a ginger drink too.

I was expecting a solid experience with the Angus burger, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The patty, while made from Angus beef and nicely seared and textured (still seeing some red in the middle of the patty) was under-seasoned, leaving it lacking in the depth of taste that such a premium meat should deliver. As for the bun, it failed to hold up against the juiciness of the patty, disintegrating halfway through the meal. That was a frustrating distraction from what could have been an enjoyable dish.

The entire lunch set was not a loss though. The fries that the burger set came with was actually excellent. Well seasoned and crisp. The portion of the burger and fries were generous and I felt very full at the end of the meal.

Jen’s Truffled Oyster Mushroom, Chicken Velouté Sauce, Sandwich (RM35) was an inspired choice. It was an aroma and flavour bomb. Now this one I would not mind coming back for. The sauce had a velvety feel and a vinegarish taste that just made the sandwich so appetising for Jen and me.

Our meal for 2 was RM102 for the 2 items.
