Restoran Asam Pedas Cikgu Lunch
Malay, Pork-Free
- Under RM20 per pax
Chiefeater Mei Lee had lunch at Restoran Asam Pedas Cikgu but found the food not spicy enough for her liking despite their name
RM12.50/一碟真的在PJ/KL都找不到
Sambal
It's been famous for so many years, but this is my first time eating here. Even on a Monday, the crowd is overwhelming.
Luckily, we found a table for two without waiting. At the next table, three young Chinese guys took their first bite and immediately nodded in approval.
When I called the waiter in Malay to ask for more sambal, they looked at me with wide eyes.
As we finished eating and lined up to pay, I saw the foreign worker at the cashier with his amazing skills, and one of them said, "Malaysia is truly a magical country."
RM12.50 per plate is something you can't find in PJ/KL. The sambal has a hint of sweetness, the fried chicken leg is fresh and good, and the coconut rice is just the way I like it. Everything here is served with speed and a friendly attitude. The foreign worker's Mandarin is even better than ABC (American-born Chinese). He can carry six plates at once and clear dozens of plates with a small tray. The owner is really fortunate to have such employees.
