Not my usual post but Hokkaido dairy produce (as I’m sure everyone knows) is world class. The best ice cream in the whole of Japan is found at Yamanaka Dairy Farm. You have to drive slightly further out but locals get their milk and ice cream at this very place.

Granted you’d find a lot of other fancier versions in towns like Otaru, Kiroro etc - but nothing beats the simplicity / elegance of this. You pay for your ice cream, cheese, milk at a vending machine before bringing it to the counter - to exchange for the actual product.

This is 8/10 for me. And if you’re a dairy lover - I suspect you’d be remiss to miss this place.
