my highlight food for my bangkok trip goes to the oldest teow chew restaurant in bangkok chinatown, Yim Yim Restaurant. now managed by the 3rd generation. my 2nd visit there. very authentic dishes. some of the dishes already can’t find elsewhere or hard to find. super duper delicious.
i ordered 7 dishes.
1) shark fin in gray soup.
they served it like how teow chew eat(with coriander and bean sprouts. of course came with mustard and vinegar. 4 stars
2) stir fried dried fish maw with eggs.
interesting dish. first time having this. 4 stars
3) fried prawns ball and deep fried minced crab roll. handmade and the authentic flavour is there. where can you find handmade crab roll nowadays. super duper delicious. 5 stars
4) chaozhou chestnut sausage
this is the dish makes me comeback . the texture and the flavour makes my taste buds unforgettable. yummy yummy yummy. 5 stars
5) double boiled mix vegetables with tofu sheet in gravy sauce
one of the ingredient they use : nostoc flagelliforme发菜. is one of my favourite . not easy to find and cook too.
they nailed it very well. i ate most of it. mmmmmmmmmmm. 5 stars
6) fried live big crab with black pepper
i hardly had crab unless in my own house. but i enjoyed it very much.
7) snow taro & sweetened ginkgo nuts in syrup
who cares about diabetes now. just enjoy first.
the taro so soft and the sugar just nice on it. 5 stars
i’m so satisfied after the meal. still thinking of it since came back from bangkok. is a restaurant that cannot miss when holiday there.
