Naughty Babe Dirty Duck @ Pavillion Bukit Jalil

Naughty Babe Dirty Duck is a name that has been synonymous with pork ribs in KL since the opening of their original outlet at Desa Sri Hartamas in 2013. Now they have opened an outlet at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. This makes it their 3rd outlet after the 2nd one at Waterfront Desa Parkcity.

We had skipped breakfast this particular weekend and was looking for a hearty brunch when we chanced upon this outlet. The modern chic look of the outlet attracted me right away and the pictures of pork on the menu sealed the deal for me.

I had a half slab of the their NBDD BBQ Pork Ribs (RM48++) and my wife had the Tamarind Glazed Chicken (RM48++). I felt the chicken was a bit too dry and the chicken relied too much on the sauce to give it’s flavour. Once you get past the skin, there was very little seasoning in the meat.

The Pork Ribs at Naughty Babe Dirty Duck was another story. After all it’s their signature. The pork rib was flavourful to the bone and grilled to tender perfection (like they described in their menu) The meat neatly fell off the bone and the cartilage had the right texture. Firm to bite with a nice crunch as you bite into it. I enjoyed that almost as much as I enjoyed the meat.

I paired the rib with a glass of Cono Sur Bicicleta Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile (RM29++). It was not a good pairing. A bolder red would have complemented the strong flavours of the BBQ ribs better.

The last picture, shows what the packaging the gloves come in. Cheeky! So on brand and living up to their name of being a Naughty Babe Dirty Duck.
