Big Breakfast, Coffee, Pork-Free
Searching for a place in KL to have breakfast, we came upon Bricks and Bread KL. Opened in Sep 2023, we had not been here before and decided to give it a visit. Since they had a Big Breakfast (RM32++) offering, that was what we ordered. A feast for the senses that promised to kickstart our day on a delicious note.
While waiting for the Big Breakfast to arrive, I decided to have a Baked Custard (RM8++) which used a soft short crust. It turned out to be a winner. Jen found it a bit too sweet for her liking though I quite liked it. It would pair well with a coffee.

The platter arrived, a symphony of colours that immediately set my taste buds tingling with excitement. The sight of the golden-brown hash browns, the vibrant hues of the sautéed cherry tomatoes, and the tantalizing aroma of the freshly baked sourdough bread beckoned to me, inviting me to dig in and savor every bite.
My first forkful of the scrambled eggs revealed a creamy texture and a rich, buttery flavour that melted in my mouth. Paired with the savoury beef bacon and succulent chicken sausage, each bite was a harmonious blend of flavours that danced on my palate, leaving me craving for more.
However, amidst the array of delectable offerings, one element caught me by surprise – the Chinese spinach. While everything on the plate was well-seasoned and expertly prepared, I couldn't help but wonder about the addition of this unexpected ingredient. Its inclusion seemed out of place amidst a western big breakfast fare. Surpisingly, its flavour profile did not clash with the other components. Maybe I have to abandon my prejudice.

The culinary journey continued, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying the sautéed mushrooms, their earthy flavor complementing the other elements of the dish perfectly. Each bite was a celebration of freshness and quality ingredients, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellence.
With its inviting ambiance, attentive service, and delicious fare, Bricks and Bread KL had undoubtedly won me over, and I knew that it would be a dining destination I would return to time and time again. My only gripe would be them not understanding I wanted one coffee to be served before the meal and one to be served after.

Our bill came up to RM74.55 for 2.
