Hakka, Non-Halal
I've been on a quest for some legit Hakka cuisine for what feels like ages. You know, the kind that hits the spot and makes you feel like you've struck gold? So, after a string of disappointments with less-than-stellar Hakka Yong Tau Foo joints, I decided to put my cravings to rest and head over to Hakka Passion. This place has been holding it down as the go-to spot for top-notch Hakka grub in Puchong for as long as I can remember.
Now, let's talk about the feast that went down. First up, a hearty serving of Hakka Yong Tau Foo swimming in that rich, flavourful black bean gravy. Talk about hitting the Hakka flavour jackpot! It was everything I'd been dreaming of—bold, robust, and packed with that signature Hakka punch. I couldn't resist pairing it with a mound of steaming grain rice to soak up every last drop of that glorious gravy.

Next on the lineup was the Steamed Village Chicken with Shaoxing Wine. Tender, succulent, and just bursting with flavour, this dish did not disappoint.

And let's not forget about the Hakka Char Yoke — each savoury bite was like a little slice of Hakka heaven.

And that fried kailan? Crispy, crunchy perfection.

Oh, and I couldn't resist adding a plate of Mugwort dumplings to the mix. For those not in the know, Mugwort is a herb commonly used in Hakka cuisine for its aromatic and slightly bitter flavour. These dumplings were however a bit bland but I found a solution in topping up the last of Yong Tau Foo gravy on it.

Sure, the bill came out to RM130 for the three of us, but honestly, it was worth every penny. And while the prices may have crept up over the years, the quality at Hakka Passion has remained consistently good. So, if you're ever in the mood for some delicious Hakka fare in Puchong, do yourself a favour and make a beeline for Hakka Passion. You won't regret it.
Hakka Passion has a private room with a table that can take up to 12 persons.
