Ipoh Tuck Kee Restaurant Dinner
Tai Chow, Non-Halal
- RM20 - RM50 per pax
Chiefeater Khor Hui Min was back in Ipoh in time for a simple but delicious dinner at the venerable Ipoh Tuck Kee Restaurant
Pig Trotter, Intestines, Non-Halal
In my quest for exceptional dishes, I stumbled upon Lin Ji Pig Leg Rice. Nestled within Albert Centre is the original stall of the Shi Nian Pig Leg Rice chain, Lin Ji Pig Leg Rice. It offers a culinary experience that rivals, if not surpasses, its Malaysian counterparts.
While I typically shy away from pig trotter, I found the rendition here to be exceptional. The trotter was tender and flavourful. The intestines, too, were above average — cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour.
The kiamchye (salted Vegetables), was unfortunately forgettable.
Swirly Intestines
Despite its reputation for excellence, a bowl of Pig Trotter Rice is priced at just SGD5.90, with salted vegetables and intestines available for a modest SGD2 and SGD9, respectively. Our total bill for a meal for three people came up to just SGD30.
In a city known for its culinary prowess, Lin Ji Pig Leg Rice stands out as a hidden gem and offers a culinary experience that won't break the bank.
