You Fu Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle is Still as Good
Street Food
Chiefeater Eddie Low still finds Singapore fried hokkien mee at You Fu Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle still as good as he remembers it

Seafood, Non-Halal
Matang Seafood Puchong specializes in seafood as stated in their name. We had the mango tofu, mixed vegetable, seafood porridge and the lala dish. To the uninitiated, lala is a type of clam. There’s a longer description of it below.
The mango tofu was largely a miss not because it was bad but because it did not complement the other dishes we had. The strong Thai style flavours of the dish was too overwhelming. Our mistake. It may have gone better if we had ordered a pork dish.

The mixed vegetable was decent enough. But really, it’s the seafood dishes that stand out here. After all, it’s in the name of their restaurant.

The seafood porridge (RM45+) is one of the must order dish here. We ordered a serving for 3 pax. The freshness of the seafood can be tasted in the porridge and the flavour is enhanced by the addition of lard croutons. We added some minced meat (RM9.60+) into the porridge. You can customise your porridge at Matang Seafood Puchong!

The lala (RM32+) which is cooked in a yellow wine broth was the star dish we had that night. The lala was fresh and cooked spot on.

Dinner for 5 came up to RM187.65

Lala, also known as Tridacna crocea, are a species of clam found in the Indo-Pacific region. They have a thick, yellowish-brown shell and can grow up to 60 centimeters in length. The inside of the shell is often brightly colored, with shades of blue, green, and purple. The clam’s mantle, which covers the inside of the shell, is also brightly colored and can have patterns or spots.
