I went for the st anne's feast at bukit mertajam, with 3 friends. on the way back, to have our lunch we went for 'chu char' (ready to cook) dishes at Look Yuen Restaurant. one of the friend is familiar with this restaurant so decided to bring us there - the look yuen restauarant at bkt tengah. we were there quite late (near 2.00 pm) so only see 1 table occupied.
oh no! the ordering is totally view QR code. although not busy at all, i would prefer the staff to approach us and ask what we like. usually when we order 'chu char' we prefer a human - who can tell us what are their signature food and whom we can ask about certain food but oh no, this restaurant, everything by QR code.
well we only order 3 dishes. stir fry eggplant with minced pork, kam heong fish and pipa tofu.
the stir fry eggplant was good and so was the pipa tofu.
i was the one who choose the pipa tofu. i have heard (and try) of pipa duck but not pipa tofu but my guess is that the tofu would be fried crispy with think skin, just like pipa duck - yes i was right. the tofu was quite good. crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside.
the fish i thought of the 'dry curry' fish but my friend chosoe 'kam heong' fish. i thought it would be one whole fish but it was fish cut into pieces and the most of the fish were a bit hard and lots of bones. not so nice lah although the sauce itself was nice. i ate more of the sauce with the onions, spring onion, dried chilli than the fish!
Total bill was RM64.40
