Urban Ground Nasi Lemak
Post by Chiefeater VK
Urban Ground feels like a modern-day kopitiam, offering a mix of popular dishes to please many tastes. I tried their Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng from the Belacan-Laa stall, and it had some standout features.
The sambal was the highlight for me. I liked that it was savoury and not sweet at all. That's often an issue with the sambal in many nasi lemak for me. This version let the spiciness shine, adding depth to the dish. While not everyone might prefer it this way, it worked well for my taste.
The rice was firm, and the crispy, savoury ikan bilis added a great crunch that paired perfectly with the sambal. The fried chicken, while flavourful, was a bit harder than I’d like. But overall, it tasted good and fit well with the meal.
Urban Ground’s nasi lemak is satisfying, especially if you enjoy a sambal that’s spicy and not sweet. The white coffee is also a bit more "kaw" than most places. So if you like your white coffee to be robust, give it a try.
