Hutaoli Music Restaurant isn’t just about delicious food. The restaurant integrates live music and entertainment while guests are a delight in its Sichuan cuisine restaurant and wine bar. Another of Chiefeater Susan’s hangout - this place is good for a fun night out. The live music, the edgy decor & high ceilings, and friendly service staff makes for a good group outing.
We had the pork intestines, garlic prawn with tunghoon, roast chicken and spicy fried chicken (lat zhi gai), and doumiao (pea shoots). Everything came out solid 7/10s to my surprise. If I had to choose a dish - the roasted chicken and intestines with green peppers would come out tops. But they were all tasty.

Garlic Prawn with Tunghoon
Roast Chicken
Spicy Fried Chicken
Doumiao
Total SGD96 for 4 pax including a bottle of Riesling. I’m told Chiefeater Susan had Groupon type deals - but I was too busy chowing down the sumptuous dishes. Hutaoli is in K-town but gives NewYorkers a reason to venture in for Sichuan delights. Definitely a thumbs up.

Chiefeater Susan insisted we try her other go-to menu items, as we could only stomach 4 dishes per meal, we were back for a second visit.
The spicy pork trotters is phenomenal 7.5/10
The mapo tofu is at another level to the ones we have in Southeast Asia. 7/10
ChiefEater Susan left the best for last.
The pork braised in stinky tofu was exceptional. 8/10.
The garlic pork with squid was also spectacular at 7.5/10
The shaobing or scallion pancakes was also superb at 7.5/10
