Lunch at Upper Teochew Palace TRX turned out to be a great decision, especially with their dim sum offerings. While the selection isn’t vast, they focus on getting the staples right, and it truly shows in the quality of what they serve.

The har gao and siew mai were both outstanding. The har gao’s skin was slightly on the thicker side, but once bitten into, that hardly mattered. The prawns inside were fresh, succulent, and bursting with natural seafood sweetness. A proper har gao should let the prawns shine, and this one certainly did.

The siew mai was equally delightful. The texture was just right, with a good balance between firmness and tenderness, and the savoury taste was well-rounded and deeply satisfying.

Their fried dim sum was also well-executed, delivering that perfect crunch without excessive greasiness.

Upper Teochew Palace TRX certainly warrants future visits. I noticed they have several private rooms too if you need privacy. I found out later that Golden Sun is part of their group, which I had noted for their har gao and dim sum before. But I think they have improved it here.
