Fish Curry, Non-Halal
We had a chance to visit this particular location after a morning workout nearby. We came in with brunch in mind, and went out with dinner in tow. It was that good. The restaurant has both air-conditioned spaces and also non air-conditioned spaces. For us, we chose the non air-conditioned one as we just came after our workout.
We ordered Salted Egg Sotong. This was incredibly delicious – tasty with a light crisp, slightly spiced due to the cili padi that was cooked into it, squid done just right – not rubbery at all.
Next, we ordered the star of the show, which is the Fish Head Curry. It came sizzling hot in a nice large claypot. Lot of fish chunks in there together with the usual suspects, usually found in most fish head curry. Taste was excellent. Fish came out just nice and not too overcooked.
The Salted Egg Sotong went well as well with this, and rice is a must have to go with this.
We also ordered some Fu Yong fried egg for some of that extra protein. It was spot on and goes well with the previous two dishes.
Last but not least, we definitely needed some vege to balance our meal. We ordered some Stir-fry Green Beans to go with it. There was enough wok-hei for this stir-fry dish.
You might wonder what does this have to do with dinner? The meal was so good that one of us actually made a take-away for dinner.
• Salted Egg Sotong
• Fish Head Curry
• Lala Soup (not in picture)
Overall, the place is a must visit, as a friend mentioned, “If everything you ordered is good, must go!!”, “If price is okay, definitely go again!!”.
