Count Cuisine Roast Pork

Roast Pork

Description

What Chiefeater VK Ordered at Count Cuisine

I recently had lunch at Count Cuisine, a newly opened high-end dining landmark in Sunway Square Mall. The restaurant is positioned as a significant addition to the local dining scene, though my experience was a mix of exceptional highlights and some letdowns.

The appetizers.

The tea

The absolute standout of the meal was the BBQ Crispy Pork Belly. The skin was remarkably crisp, and the meat was so tender that I could bite a piece in half while it perfectly retained its form. It is a dish that showcases high-level technical skill.

The Stir Fried HK Kai Lan with Scallops was also delicious, featuring well-prepared greens and plump scallops. However, at a price point of RM88.00, it does raise questions regarding its overall value.

Other items were less consistent. While the prawns in the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gao) were fresh and flavorful, the skin was unfortunately too thick and leaned towards being dry.

The Steamed Cheong Fun with Char Siew was alright but didn't leave a lasting impression.

To end the meal, a complimentary bean curd was served, but it lacked smoothness; I would recommend skipping it even as a free addition.

MVX Summary

Score: 7.0/10

M – Meal Value
The pricing reflects its status as a high-end landmark, particularly with premium vegetable dishes reaching RM88. While the roast pork justifies its cost through superior execution, the inconsistency in the dim sum skins makes the overall value feel slightly unbalanced for the price point.
Score: 6.5/10

V – Venue & Vibes
As a new landmark in Sunway Square, the restaurant offers a grand and sophisticated setting suitable for formal lunches or special occasions. The ambiance is refined and matches the upscale positioning of the mall.
Score: 7.5/10

X – X-Factor
The roast pork is the definitive X-factor here. Its perfect texture and structural integrity under a crisp skin set it apart from many other high-end Cantonese outlets. So good you can bite it in half.
Score: 7.0/10
