Chinese, Fine Dining
An intimate yet stunning dining venue, Ba Xian Dining Room is established as one of Singapore’s best Chinese restaurants. Reflecting Singapore’s rich Chinese heritage, the décor is ‘Chinois chic’ – contemporary with subtle touches of oriental. Expertly-crafted, delicate yet sumptuous Cantonese-style cuisine is served on designer chinaware.

The mango lobster was also inextricably tasty at 7.5/10
Not your usual ensemble, but mango goes well with lobster – who would have thought.

Then the coup de grace. The French turbot at SGD200 was the clincher. I’ve never had fish this good: melts in your mouth, silky sweetness and the base sauce made from light mala and black beans. This will be my first 8.5/10 for a steamed fish. Truly exquisite rendition of poisson perfection.

I’m sure the other dishes would be superb. But today we had a sumptuous seafood spread. We will be back at Tower Club soon.
Strange fact; usually F&B options in clubs like Tanglin Club, China Club and American Club, British Club etc has been iffy (to me), over the years. Club membership was deemed prestigious but I thought maybe a tad old school. Then this. Ba Xian is a standalone winner, with or without the laurels of the iconic Tower Club!
Oh? The views are stupendous. You can see Malaysia, Indonesia and Sentosa in one panoramic vista. That certainly helps.
