Burger
One of the biggest challenges with ordering burgers through delivery is that they rarely arrive the way they left the kitchen. The bun becomes soggy, the sauce takes over, and by the time it reaches your doorstep, you’re left eating something that bears little resemblance to what was intended. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case with Burgirls.
I ordered The Bae-sic Bij with an added slice of cheese, all vegetables and a side of wedges. Even after the journey, the burger held together surprisingly well. The soft brioche bun remained intact without becoming overly compressed or falling apart after a few bites.
More importantly, the balance of flavours was spot on.
Many gourmet burgers rely heavily on sauce, to the point where it overwhelms everything else. Here, the sauce complemented rather than dominated the burger. The beef patty remained the star of the show, with its savoury flavour coming through clearly in every bite. The melted cheese added richness while the fresh vegetables provided a welcome contrast that kept the burger from feeling too heavy.
It was also reassuring to see that the burger wasn’t dripping with excess sauce or grease. That restraint allowed the individual ingredients to shine instead of blending into one messy mouthful.
The wedges completed the meal nicely and survived delivery well.
If this is how Burgirls performs after being delivered, I’d be curious to see how much better it tastes fresh from the restaurant.
The Bae-sic Bij (Add Cheese, All Vegetables, With Wedges) – RM29.70
Delivery Fee – RM3.50
Promotion Discount – RM7.00
Total Paid – RM26.20
MVX Score: 8.2/10
M – Meal Value
At RM29.70 before discounts, The Bae-sic Bij offers good value for a gourmet burger with wedges. The quality of the beef, sturdy bun and well-balanced flavours justify the price.
Score: 8.2/10
V – Vroomness of Delivery
This burger arrived faster than expected. The bun stayed intact, the fillings remained neatly contained and the overall presentation was still appetising upon arrival. Nothing became soggy or messy, which is often the downfall of delivered burgers.
Score: 8.5/10
X – X-Factor
The biggest strength isn’t that it’s the most extravagant burger‚Äîit’s the restraint. By keeping the sauce in balance, Burgirls allows the beef patty to remain the dominant flavour, which is surprisingly uncommon among many modern gourmet burgers.
Score: 8.0/10
