Mama Noodles, Street Food, Non-Halal
Went to one of our favourite hawker haunts, 888 Foodcourt Kuantan, for lunch today & the chicken rice was a bit underwhelming - but birthday boy said his lo mai fan & yong tau foo were above average.
This Mama Noodle dish was the star at lunch today. I can't imagine ever having something like this in 38C temperatures at an open food court but this was in a class of it own & yours truly guzzled 1/3rd of it.
From a little booth run by a Thai lady, it was full of porky richness, the broth was mind-blowingly good, meat was tender & well-flavoured, and noodles were super- springy. Oh, yes.
Mama Noodles is a brand of instant noodles that is popular in Malaysia, as well as other countries in Southeast Asia. It is a product of the Thai company, Thai President Foods Public Company Limited, which is also known for its other popular instant noodle brand, "Mama" in Thailand.
Mama Noodles are thin, wheat-based noodles that are typically served in a soup or broth. They come in a variety of flavours, including Tom Yum, chicken, beef, and vegetable.
Mama Noodles became popular in Malaysia due to their convenience, affordability, and taste. They were first introduced to the Malaysian market in the 1980s. It is commonly used as a base for more elaborate dishes, such as stir-fries and noodle soups.
