Nasi Lemak
You could really do far worse than having Santan Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak at ZUS Coffee KLIA while waiting to board your flight. Airport prices aside, this is a decent nasi lemak for RM8.90. I particularly liked the sambal, which was savoury and spicy, without the sweetness that can sometimes dominate a nasi lemak sambal.

The nasi lemak comes wrapped in banana leaf, with sambal, peanuts, ikan bilis and egg. It is a fairly straightforward nasi lemak bungkus, which is perfectly fine when you want something familiar before boarding.

I also ordered a Cheesy Sausage Roll and an Iced Australian Chocolate, although the nasi lemak was the reason this meal was worth writing about.
For an airport departure lounge, it’s a decent option, especially if you’re looking for something Malaysian rather than another sandwich or pastry.
Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak Light – RM8.90
Cheesy Sausage Roll – RM12.90
Iced Australian Chocolate – RM15.90
Total paid: RM37.70
Average per pax: RM37.70 (1 pax)
MVX Score: 7.0/10
M – Meal Value
RM8.90 for a decent nasi lemak at KLIA Terminal 1 represents fair value, particularly with a savoury, spicy sambal that I enjoyed.
Score: 7.0/10
V – Vibe & Venue
The ZUS Coffee outlet at KLIA Terminal 1 is basic but comfortable, providing a suitable place to have a meal while waiting to board a flight.
Score: 7.0/10
X – X-Factor
The savoury, spicy sambal was the highlight of the nasi lemak. Beyond that, there wasn’t anything particularly unexpected about the experience.
