Jane’s Nem Happy Mansion Vietnamese Meal
Vietnamese
- RM20 - RM50 per pax
Chiefeater Kane Chong had Vietnamese food at Jane’s Nem Happy Mansion and found it a happy, lighter-tasting place for a Sunday meet-up

Cantonese, Fine Dining
While the name might not sound like a Chinese restaurant, I checked out 5 ON 25 recently for lunch, the Chinese restaurant concept of Andaz Singapore in Bugis. The restaurant is located on level 25 of the hotel, and it is a beautiful space with ample natural light in the day.

The interior of 5 ON 25 is elegant with hints of retro vibes from the dark wood wall panels, along with beautiful tableware which reminds me of the ones at Summer Pavilion. 5 on 25 is helmed by head chef, Chef Lim Hong Lih who has two decades of Cantonese culinary experience under his belt.
The extensive menu is a mix of ala carte dishes and set menu options where lunch set starts from SGD68 (minimum 2 pax). For lunch, dim sum is also offered in addition to the usual selections of roast meats, seafood, soups, rice and noodles, and desserts. In terms of beverages, there is a good selection of Chinese tea, sparkling tea, champagne or wine.
I chose the Garden Dim Sum set at $68++ per pax

Snow Crab & Shrimp Dumpling ‘Har Gaw’
Trufle, Pumpkin & Water Chestnut Crystal Dumpling
Beetroot Crystal Dumpling

Baked Honey-Glazed Barbecue Pork Puff Pastry
Crispy Lobster Roll

Double-Boiled Soup of the Day

The food was good at 7/10
My fav disb was the ham yue gai lap fried rice. It was dry and flavourful the way I like it. Every grain of rice was coated with goodness. This was the only 7.5/10 in the line up today.
One of the best fried rice (this version – salted fish and chicken cubes) I’ve had in the region. Maybe #2 after Hong Kong and Guangdong.
