Prawn Mee, Street Food
Feb 2026.
one of the best hokkien mee around town – ah seng hokkien mee at new lane. no, not at the famous new lane hawkers centre as he only sells in the morning from 6.00am onwards…. usually by 10.00 am or so, will be sold out. his stall is not inside the cafe but by the side. here you can catch a glimpse of him standing by his stall.

here is ah seng, the seller, friendly man

i was there yesterday at about 10.30am and i had the last bowl! he had been selling there for a very long time. my first time tasting his hokkien mee was somewhere in the year 2000…. that long.
his hokkien mee has slice prawns that can consider big, since most sliced prawns in hokkien mee, i notice are smaller. also, there are quite a number of crsipy pork lard. best of all is of course the broth – very flavourful umami prawn taste. big at RM6.00
