Baobei Kitchen is like a dinner gathering place for people in Klang. The small restaurant is located in the small Foodcourt opposite the Four Eyes Bak Kut Teh. There is no air conditioning and no gorgeous decoration. It is just an honest neighborhood restaurant. But before 6 o'clock in the evening, the front of the store has already been crowded with local diners, and it is as lively as the New Year.
What caught my eye most was the chef in the kitchen - he had Elvis-style sideburns, neat and tidy hair, and a retro style. He looked very energetic, and standing in front of the kitchen was like he was in the center of the stage, with a high spirit.
Two dishes recommended by the boss: strange-flavored red date fish fillet - the fish meat is fried until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and then stir-fried with a special sauce. The sour, spicy and sweet flavors are just right, and it is fragrant and delicious; cauliflower and pork are stir-fried quickly over high heat in a clay pot. The cabbage remains crispy and the pork is soft and tender without being greasy. The combination is particularly good. It is the kind of simple but amazing dish.
The most reassuring thing is that the whole restaurant insists on not using MSG, relying entirely on the original flavor of the ingredients and the cooking time to make the delicious taste. The boss also thoughtfully gave everyone a bowl of free dried vegetable soup. The soup is sweet and not dry, with the aroma of tangerine peel. It is a good soup to whet the appetite before meals and relieve greasiness after meals.
The rice is still Thai fragrant rice with distinct grains, and the aroma is naturally fragrant, which is perfect with heavy-flavored dishes. This time I came to eat very satisfyingly, and there are many attractive dishes on the menu. I will definitely visit again next time to continue to discover more hidden delicacies.
