Batang Kali, located at the border of Pahang and Selangor, is an excellent shortcut for those traveling between the East Coast and South Malaysia. Today, I visited a highly recommended restaurant, Restoran CCK, and tried a few unique dishes.

First up is the “Petai with Golden Crispy Fish.” This dish stands out with its fish fried to a golden crisp and then topped with a fragrant, spicy petai sauce. It’s flavorful and pairs perfectly with rice, leaving a lasting impression.

Next is a local specialty, “Claypot Water Spinach.” This kangkung dish is savory and aromatic, a taste that locals particularly enjoy.

Finally, I tried a distinctive dish, “Braised Pig Trotters.” The pig skin is first deep-fried to enhance its texture, then braised in a rich sauce, and finished off with a thick glaze before serving. It’s incredibly flavorful.

The three dishes together cost just under RM100, offering excellent value for money! Most importantly, each dish perfectly matched my taste, making it absolutely worth a try.
