Back at Fairwood Kowloon. We started my daughter on the macaroni soup back then, and every year, it’s been a tradition. Yes, this outlet and during HK winters.

But on a serious note – after having had multiple Maxims (another local HK fast food establishment) and other more local variations (char chan tengs in every district) – this place holds up. Especially in the CBD, in a place like ICC.
I’ve always been amazed with how the Hong Kongers to turn everyday ingredients, including instant noodles, milk and even Coca Cola, into their own versions of comfort food. My go to has always been the Nissin instant noodles, and only in HK, I go against my principle of eating what I can’t or don’t usually eat at home. The instant noodles with luncheon meat and sunny side up is my usual choice of HK brekkie carbs.

We have exhausted the menu here over here years but today we saw something new. The thick rice vermicelli with Chinese chives and soya sauce. It was good.

Overall a 6.5/10 over the decades, Fairwood Kowloon. Maybe it’s the ice rink nearby. Maybe it’s the memories.
