Snacks, Kacang Putih
Looking for something nice to munch on while taking a stroll and enjoying the beautiful scenery on Penang Hill? Go to Mr Sathivel's Famous Penang Hill Kacang Putih stall located in front of the police station. It has been offering tasty tidbits and snacks to the hill visitors for more than six decades.

It all began in 1960 when Mr Sathivel's grandfather opened a small stall on Penang Hill selling only 'kacang putih' and 'kacang kuda'.

Many years later, more varieties of Indian tidbits and snacks were added after Mr Sathivel's father took over the business in 1984. The legacy continued into the third generation when Penang Hill-born Mr Sathivel began running the stall in 1992.

Kacang Putih (literally translated as 'white nuts') are fried chickpeas (cicer arietinum). It has been a popular and healthy snack since ages.

Kacang Kuda (literally translated as 'horse nuts') are steamed chickpeas. They are rich in protein, dietary fibre and minerals.

Besides the all-time favourites of 'kacang putih' and 'kacang kuda', the very popular Chickpeas Special Masala and Corn Special Masala as well as murukku, steamed groundnuts, sweet corn, pepper corn, pani puri, Bombay mix, onion chips and cashew nuts are also available.
Chickpeas Special Masala, steamed chickpeas mixed with crunchy tidbits and flavourful spices - the most popular snack at this stall.

Corn Special Masala, sweet corn mixed with other crunchy tidbits and flavourful spices - one of the recommended snacks here
