Chinese, Non-Halal
Jen and I were treated to a delightful lunch at Big Guy Steam Fish Balakong in Batu 11 Cheras. The restaurant had a non air-conditioned premises and another one that’s air-conditioned. Needless to say, you can guess which one we went for.

The spread was impressive, featuring two fish head dishes (Jing Ching and Cheong Ching), pork patty, black vinegar trotter, yellow wine chicken, tofu, steamed brinjal, and stir-fried kailan.

Every dish was flavourful and well-prepared. The fish head dishes were fresh and perfectly steamed. The fish stomach that topped the cheong ching added a nice biting texture to the the dish.

The yellow wine chicken had a rich flavour and added a warming touch to the belly.

Other dishes

The pork patty, in particular, stood out in terms of taste because of its addition of cuttlefish. This infused it a delightful texture and an extra layer of umami.

The meal was satisfying not only in taste but also in value. The entire feast for our group of ten cost only RM257, making it an exceptionally good deal. Big Guy Steam Fish Balakong offers delicious food at great prices, making it a must-visit spot in this area.
