Chiefeater David Quah had a breakfast of toast bread and half boiled eggs at Toh Soon Cafe that was gorgeous & reasonable
Dim Sum, Non-Halal
Gui Yuan Restaurant is a very nice dimsum place - unpretentious local place. Good old school dimsum. Sometimes, you must share a table with strangers. Love the charsiew pau and also redbean (tausar) pau that reminds me of my childhood pay.
Chicken feet a bit on sweet side. Harkow skin a bit dry and it broke. Siewmai is ok. Lomaikai however is on the slightly soggy side.
Chee Cheong Fun is made there with charsiew or prawns. The chili is slightly spicy but damn shiok.
Overall, it's a good dimsum place favoured by the locals as well as Singaporeans but they have not made the owners increase the prices.
Need to say that their century egg pork porridge is good but before you put soya sauce in, you should taste it cos it's already a bit salty.
The century egg siewmai is also something not on the menu in many places in JB.
