Kedai Kopi Jia Siang Sang Nyuk Mien
Post by Chiefeater PLKV
If you like pork noodles, sang nyuk mien which translated literally from Hakka means raw meat noodle. It is next level pork noodles. Don't worry there is no raw pork. The name comes from thin slices of raw pork thrown into the hot lardy porky soup before serving. The main dish is "con lou mien" which again is hakka for dried mixed noodle. Kedai Kopi Jia Siang in Kota Kinabalu does it better than most.
Get the yellow noodle even if you typically are not a fan. This has the lardy goodness and taste that is almost, just almost like a good hokkien mee without the wok hei. The soup is divine. Nice porky goodness with bits of fried lard that you can only have after your annual health check up... This is a very popular restaurant and like most places in Asia you know the food is good if you have to queue for a table. Be patient, good food comes to those that wait.
