Lunch today at the popular Michelin-Selected Lao San Tong new branch on Penang island at the RM40 million Food Bayana complex in Bayan Lepas - Lao San Tong Bak Kut Teh Food Bayana.
It's easy to see why this eatery is listed in the Michelin Guide. Here, deep-flavoured herbal soup with fall-off-the-bone tender pork-ribs and collagen-rich pig’s trotters, together with pig's intestines, pig's stomach and bean-curd sticks are served in bubbling claypots, alongside delicious yam rice and deep-fried "eu char koay" (Chinese crullers).
Founded in 2005 by Oon Thian Lin and his wife, Chuah Poh Kuie, the popular Michelin-Selected Lao San Tong Bak Kut Teh in Jalan Raja Uda, Butterworth, is currently very competently run by their three dedicated sons: Sean, Jeff, and Danny.
